Ila Pearl Birdcage Veil
Ila Pearl Birdcage Veil
Our ivory Ila birdcage veil features scattered pearl details and is attached to a pair of hair combs.
Originating in the early 20th century, birdcage veils soared to popularity during the 1940's due to wartime fabric shortages. Typically made of French or Russian netting they are designed to cover the face to the chin or eyes but are so sheer that they do not obscure the face. It remains an iconic retro bridal look today and is simultaneously a nod to the Old Hollywood aesthetic and a statement alternative to the classic veil for modern brides. This style pairs very well with shorter bridal styles and court wedding outfits, but can also be styled with ball gown style dresses to create a more glamorous mid century look.
